Walk Free: Flash mob

A group of children from Shivalik A block were engaged in a BBoying flash mob performance. These children, along with some members of the local Hip Hop group. Slumgods, got together to choreograph and perform on the street coinciding with one of the Community Engagement Workshops.
The mixed group performed on the busy street – causing interest amongst the people on the streets who stopped to watch. The campaign worked to make residents aware of the need to “Reclaim your Streets” from the vehicular traffic that has come to dominate the streets as well and public spaces.
The group performed to a rap composed by B Boys Sandeep who was also the chief choreographer of the performance. The rap talks about traffic and the benefits of walking and cycling. The dance practise and performance were thus used as a medium through which to start a dialogue about mobility and traffic in the city.
